Error description

  • Both Graphical Scheduling (GS) and Graphical Assignment (GA)
get yellow "The Data Cannot Display" error when records are
missing from the SKD tables. Two occurrences we have seen so
far in the logs are; when:
    1. it is looking for an SKDCONSTRAINT record for which the
SKDACTIVITY record was no longer there
    2. when looking for an SKDRESERVATION for which the
resource was no longer in SKDRESOURCE.

We are not sure how that happens exactly but one way might be
that when we do the assignment via avail labor dialog and it
fails, we lose the resource assignment somehow, and when the
schedule is refreshed, we have a reservation but no resource,
    and we get this error.

Development said to enter this APAR as we should handle these
situations gracefully and either report the problem or just
move past it and continue with the display of the gantt.

The only other way we can think to reproduce it is via the
backend but have not worked out those steps yet.

They have seen it and sent in logs from 7.6.0.8 and for 7.6.0.9.

Here is one of the exceptions:

Local fix

  • Duplicating the Schedule or WorkList seems to get around this
