APAR status

Error description

  • When using SLM Peer multicasting, if one of the peers is out of
    service for a period and then starts receiving messages, the
    appliance might restart, and at times continuously.
    

Local fix

  • Reboot the peer which is not restarting to bring both peers into
    sync and stop the restarts.
    

Problem summary

  • Affected are DataPower appliances in SLM peer groups.
    
    If one of the appliances is misconfigured so that it does not
    receive the SLM peering multicast messages from the other group
    members, once the misconfiguration is corrected, one of the
    group members might hang and restart with watchdog.
