Error description

  • The "LABEL LIBVOLUME" command can generate an ANR9999D error
message when a new volume contains a non-standard IBM tape
label. This can occur for numerous reasons, but one example
is that another application generated the label and it does
not conform to expected IBM labeling standards.

In the Tivoli Storage Manager actlog, the following messages
    are logged:

      ANR9999D_2454833596 ErrorHandler(pvrntp.c:8374) Thread<1835>:

      ANR9999D Thread<1835> 0x000035582e5ccd *UNKNOWN*

The root cause of this problem is that the existing label is
not of an expected format (the label length is too long).
Despite the error, Tivoli Storage Manager is able to re-label
the volume with success (ANR8810I). The ANR9999D error is
    benign.
