Error description

  • The domain.vmfull option provides the vmhostcluster parameter to
specify a specific VMware cluster to process during backup. If
the value specified with this parameter contains periods(full
stops), the name will be truncated to the value before the first
    period(full stop).
For example, if the cluster name is 'TSM.Lab.Cluster.01' during
processing it will be truncated to 'TSM'.

Versions Affected:Tivoli Storage Manager Backup/Archive client
    7.1.0

Customer/L2 Diagnostics: A preview of the dsmc backup will show
    the following for each machine:
     'dsmc backup vm
     -domain.vmfull="vmhostcluster=TSM.Lab.Cluster.01" -preview'

           vmName: TestVM01
           DomainKeyword: vmhostcluster=TSM
           toolsRunningStatus: guestToolsRunning
           toolsVersionStatus: guestToolsCurrent
           consolidationNeeded: No

A service level trace will show the following entries against
    the vmVcbGetVMList:

Local fix

  • Specify the individual machines in the cluster if they need to
be processed separately from other machines in the environment
