APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • During VM scan for Application Protection reports, the scan for
    32 bit Windows VMs always fails with "initialization error"
    displayed in the "Application Configuration Status" report. This
     is due to a programming error where 64 bit code is injected to
    32 bit machines.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: One of the code paths during scan       *
    *                      initialization is missing the check     *
    *                      for VM bit-ness before injecting the    *
    *                      code to VM. As a result, VM scan for    *
    *                      32 bit Windows VMs always fails with    *
    *                      "initialization error" displayed in     *
    *                      the "Application Configuration          *
    *                      Status" report.                         *

    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply fixing level when available. This      *
    *                 problem is currently projected to be fixed   *
    *                 in levels 7.1.1. Note that until the fixing  *
    *                 level is available, this information is      *
    *                 subject to change at the discretion of IBM.  *
