APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • If 'devices.common.IBM.fc.hba-api' fileset is not installed on
AIX, and 'sandiscovery' option is enabled,
and if san discovery is called/required, then the standalone
'dsmqsan' binary can crash and produce a core dump. However, TSM
server is still running normally.


The activity log reports:

Verify the fileset is not installed with:

lslpp -l devices.common.IBM.fc.hba-api

Problem conclusion

  • This problem was fixed.

ANR8228E Fileset devices.common.IBM.fc.hba-api is not
installed on the system.
Explanation
The specified fileset is required for the SAN discovery
operation. Install the latest maintenance for this fileset if
the SANDISCOVERY option  is set to ON.
Sysact
Server operation continues, but without accurate SAN device
mapping.
Uresp
Install latest version of the device.common.IBM.fc.hba-api
fileset.
