Error description

  • The Tivoli Storage Manager server introduced Oracle StorageTek
T10000D drive support in release 7.1 as documented within the
Release Notes:

Additional information, including implementation command
syntax, can be located within the following TechNote:

The required T10000D and T10000D-C drive formats, however, are
not documented in the 7.1 Tivoli Storage Manager server
publications under the DEFINE DEVCLASS command syntax.

Also, the DEFINE DEVCLASS online help facility within the
Tivoli Storage Manager server does not reflect that T10000D or
T10000D-C are supported formats.

This is a documentation problem only.  The T10000D drive
formats are accepted by the DEFINE DEVCLASS command.

Problem conclusion


    

  • In the Tivoli Storage Manager V7.1.1 Administrator's
Reference, the sections
for "DEFINE DEVCLASS" and "UPDATE DEVCLASS" for an ECARTRIDGE
device class will be updated to provide the following drive
formats:
Oracle StorageTek T10000D
Oracle StorageTek T10000D-C

Affected platforms: AIX, HP-UX, Solaris, Linux, and Windows.
