Error description

  • Using the "SET STATUSATRISKINTERVAL TYPE=VM INTERVAL=nnn"
command will report successful completion, but the specified
interval does not affect the at-risk status for virtual machines
reported in the Tivoli Storage Manager Operations Center.
Instead, the interval specified for applications is used for
    virtual machines.

For example, if QUERY MONITORSETTINGS shows

                                    Monitor Status: On
                 Status Refresh Interval (Minutes): 5
                          Status Retention (Hours): 48
                     ...
                 At-Risk Interval for Applications: 24
Skipped files as At-Risk for Applications?: Yes
At-Risk Interval for Virtual Machines: 720
Skipped files as At-Risk for Virtual Machines?: Yes
                      At-Risk Interval for Systems: 24
Skipped files as At-Risk for Systems?: Yes

Then virtual machines that have been backed up in the last 720
hours (30 days) should report not at-risk.
However, only virtual machines backed up in the last 24 hours
    will report not at-risk.

Note: The 'At-Risk Interval' value for all client types has a
    default setting of 24hrs.

    Tivoli Storage Manager Versions Affected:
Tivoli Storage Manager Server v.6.3.4 and later

    Initial Impact:
    Medium

Local fix

  • Use the "SET STATUSATRISKINTERVAL TYPE=APPLICATION INTERVAL=nnn"
command to set the at-risk interval for both applications and
    virtual machines.
