APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Under certain circumstances, a log target with an event trigger
might result in the device running out of memory causing the
    appliance to restart.

Local fix

  • Remove the log target event triggers.

Problem summary

  • Affected are DataPower configurations using the log target
    event trigger feature.

When the log target event trigger is used, there is a small
amount of memory growth. For event triggers that are activated
often over a prolonged period of time, the increase in memory
usage might affect the appliance's operation by causing
transaction errors, throttling or firmware restarts. After
thousands of trigger executions, the increase in memory use is
    observable.
