IC96014: AUTODEPLOY FAILS WHEN TCPSERVERADDRESS VALUE DOESN'T MATCH SERVERHLADDRESS

Error description

  • Running a Automatic Client deployment for a Unix/Linux client
    node,  the deployment may  with the following message logged  in
     the  setup.log:
    
    Tue Aug 20 13:13:52 EDT 2013: read : TCPServeraddress 10.1.1.1
    Tue Aug 20 13:13:52 EDT 2013:      : comparing host 110.1.1.2
    and host 10.1.1.1
    Tue Aug 20 13:13:52 EDT 2013:      : no match found: IP
    10.1.1.2: and IP 10.1.1.1:
    
    
    "10.1.1.1" is the TCPserveraddress value in dsm.sys, this is
    also the IP of second Network card on Tivoli storage Manager
    Server.
    
    "10.1.1.2 " is the  Tivoli Storage Manager Server's
    SERVERHLADDRESS value, this is also the IP of the first network
    card on Tivoli Storage Manager Server.
    
    If the client's  "TCPserveraddress" value is not the same with
    the Server's SERVERHLADDRESS value, the Automatic client
    deployment can fail for a  Linux/Unix client.

Local fix

  • 1: modify client's dsm.sys
    change TCPserveraddress value to be the same with
    SERVERHLADDRESS
    or
    2: create an extra Server Stanza in dsm.sys, make this stanza's
    TCPserveraddress to be the same with server's SERVERHLADDRESS
    
    For example, add a stanza:
    
    servername autodeploy
    tcpserveradress IP_from_SERVERHLADDRESS
