IC95952: WEB SERVICE PROXY RETURNS TWO SOAP ENVELOPES WHEN PROBE IS ENABLED AND WEB SERVICE MANAGEMENT IS ENABLED IN "BUFFER" MODE

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The response returned for a Web Service Proxy service contains
    two SOAP envelopes with the fault information when all the
    following are true:
    
    - Probe is enabled.
    - Web Service Management (WSM) is enabled.
    - Web Services Management Agent's Buffer Mode is set to Buffer.
    - An error occurs during multi-step.
    
    The following is an example of a correct response:

Local fix

  • Use one of the following:
    
    1) disable Probe.
    2) set WSM Agent's Buffer Mode to "Discard". Note: Buffer mode
    is the recommended setting so only use this as a temporary
    workaround.
    3) disable WSM Agent.
    

Problem summary

  • Affected is the use of Probe with Web Service Management
    (WSM) for a Web Service Proxy (WSP).
    
    If WSM is in "Buffer" mode, then a WSP SOAP response message
    is returned twice to the client.
