IC94586: FAILURES TO TRUNCATE SQL LOGS WITH APPLICATION PROTECTION ARE NOT REPORTED

Error description

  • When using the Self-contained Application Protection feature of
    Tivoli Storage Manager for Virtual Environments with a Microsoft
    SQL Server, the batch function which truncates the transaction
    logs may not report failures correctly.  The backup itself will
    work without error, but there  will be no entries in the
    Microsoft Application event logs.
    The supplied batch file, TsmMSSqlLogTruncation.bat is not
    reporting the failure correctly and returning a RC-0.

      Tivoli Storage Manager for Virtual Environments 6.4

Problem conclusion
