IC94536: CLI OR WEBGUI HANGS WHEN DOING CONSECUTIVE DOMAIN RESTARTS

APAR status

Error description

  • When a user restarts an application domain before the domain is
    fully initialized
    from a previous restart domain request or after a restart of the
    appliance, the
    newly restarted domain might hang. The CLI or WebGUI
    interface from which
    the request to restart the domain was made might not return
    control to the user.
    

Local fix

  • Wait until the appliance is fully initialized (in the case of
    a full restart), or the
    domain is fully initialized (in the case of domain restart),
    before trying
    another domain restart of the affected domain. The use of Domain
    Availability
    can indicate when a domain is fully initialized, and can
    therefore be
    restarted.
    

Problem summary

  • Administrators who restart an application domain before the
    domain is fully initialized after a previous restart domain
    request or after restarting the appliance, might see the
    request hang on either the CLI or WebGUI.
