IC85067: HELP IS NOT ALWAYS AVAILABLE FOR TRAP EVENT SUBSCRIPTIONS ADDED TO THE SNMP SETTINGS

Error description

  • When an event subscription is added on the Trap Event
    Subscriptions tab of the Configure SNMP Settings, and help is
    requested for that subscription, by selecting the subscription
    and the clicking on the Help button, help is not always
    available.
    
    For example, when help is selected for 0x01b6000c, the following
    is displayed:
    
      Event Code 0x01b6000c - Certificate is about to expire
    
      The Certificate Monitor noticed that the specified certificate
      is about to expire.

      --------------------------------------------------------------
      Suggestion:
      No suggestion available
    
    However, when help is selected for 0x082c0006d, the following
    is displayed but no information is provided:
    
      Event Code 0x82c0006d -
    
      --------------------------------------------------------------
      Suggestion:
      No suggestion available
    
    There are cases where both the help and the description next to
    the event code are not provided.
    
    
    For example, when 0x082c0006d is added, it is displayed as:
    
      0x082c0006d (Error parsing EDI content of %s message
      (Content-Type: %s) : %s)
    
    while when x82c0006c or 0x82c0006e are added only the code is
    listed as follows:
    
      0x82c0006c
      0x82c0006e
    
    For event codes like 0x03b30005, no description is provided and
    when help is requested, the following message is shown:
    
      There is no help available for message 0x03b30005 +
    

Local fix

  • All codes are documented in the DataPower Information Center in
    the Message Reference.  Refer to the information center for a
    description and explanation of the codes.
    

Problem summary

  • The event code description will be displayed when this is fixed
    in the next release.
