Error description

  • db2top may exit ( or crash ) if there are a large number of
    connections to database and heavy workload at the same.
    It is because that, the amount of dynamic memory required to
    contain snapshot data captured by db2top exceeds user's ulimit
    data size.
    

Local fix

  • Increase user's ulimit "data" setting
    

Problem summary

  • db2top may exit ( or crash ) if there are a large number of

Problem conclusion

  • First fixed in DB2 Version 9.7 Fixpack 5.
