Error description

  • In the "Known Issues & Limitations" tech note available at this
    location http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?&uid=swg21319956
    the following limitation is documented:
    .
    =============
    In order to perform Mailbox Restore (IMR) operations on Exchange
    Server 2010, the Exchange Server that you are performing the
    mailbox restore on must have the Mailbox Server Role and the
    Client Access Server (CAS) Role.
    Workaround: Perform the mailbox restore operation on an Exchange
    server that has the Mailbox Server Role and Client Access Server
    (CAS) Role. When this limitation is lifted by Microsoft
    Exchange, the FlashCopy Manager and Data Protection for Exchange
    code will be updated accordingly.
    .
    ===============
    .
    On December 14, 2010 a Microsoft Knowledge Base article was
    published which indicates that Update Rollup 2 for Exchange
    Server 2010 Service Pack 1 resolves this limitation. This
    article is available here:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2385194/
    .
    This APAR is to indicate that the Data Protection for Exchange
    product is being updated to support the new Microsoft update
    referenced by the above Knowledge Base article.
    Once this update is released, the previously noted limitation
    requiring both a Mailbox Server Role and a Client Access Server
    (CAS) role installed on the local server for IMR operations
    in an Exchange 2010 server environment.
    .
    Versions Affected: Data Protection for Exchange V6.1.2
    .
    Initial Impact: High
    .
    Local Fix: None
