IC68005: TSM SERVER BACKUP DB FAILS WHEN COMPARING GUID - ANR2987W

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • TSM server backup db fails due to a string comparison function
    not being able to correctly match the server and client GUID.
    
    The following errors can be seen in the activity log:
    
    ANR2987W Session ended because of machine GUID or local host IP
     address mismatch.
    ANR0430W Session XXXX for node $$_TSMDBMGR_$$ (DB2/NT64) refused
     - node name is locked.
    ANR0403I Session XXXX ended for node $$_TSMDBMGR_$$ (DB2/NT64).
    ANR2968E Database backup terminated. DB2 sqlcode: -2033.
     DB2 sqlerrmc: 61.
    ANR0985I Process XX for DATABASE BACKUP running in the
     BACKGROUND completed with completion state FAILURE at xx:xx:xx
    
    These error messages can also be seen if the TSM Server database
    manager was incorrectly configured for backup before running the
    backup db command. So care must be taken to make sure that all
    the steps were taken in the following:

Local fix

  • Add the following option to the dsmserv.opt and restart the TSM
    Server:
    DBMTRUSTEDGUIDIGNORE YES
