A fix is available for IBM Storwize V7000 Unified, for the security issue that an attacker could crash applications by exploiting a vulnerability in Samba
Samba is used in IBM Storwize V7000 Unified to enable file management and authentication services for Microsoft Windows environments.
IBM Storwize V7000 Unified includes a version of Samba that is vulnerable to a denial of service. A remote authenticated attacker could exploit this vulnerability to cause the application to crash.

IBM Storwize V7000 Unified
The product is affected when running a code releases 18.104.22.168 to 22.214.171.124 and also 126.96.36.199 and 188.8.131.52
A fix for these issues is in version 184.108.40.206 and 220.127.116.11 of IBM Storwize V7000 Unified. Customers running an affected version of IBM Storwize V7000 Unified should upgrade to 18.104.22.168 or 22.214.171.124 or a later version, so that the fix gets applied.
Workarounds and Mitigations
Avoid use of authentication servers which are not protected behind a firewall. This vulnerability can be exploited only by someone who is authenticated.
