Moving Volumes to Another I/O Group Without Stopping Host Activity is Not Supported for All Operating Systems
SAN Volume Controller, Storwize V7000, and IBM Flex System V7000 release 6.4 includes a feature that allows a volume to be moved between IO groups without requiring any host downtime.
Not all operating systems respond correctly when using this feature, so review the supported host matrix before attempting to use this feature.
