Ricoh Production Print Solutions AFP Printer Driver for Windows

Warning: The Ricoh Production Print Solutions AFP Printer Driver for Windows does not include the cwbaffax.zip file, and does not support using the AFP printer driver with Facsimile Support/400 (FAX/400) and Enhanced Services.

If you need to use the AFP printer driver with Facsimile Support/400 (FAX/400) and Enhanced Services, then you must use the IBM i Access version of the AFP printer driver and not the Ricoh Production Print Solutions AFP Printer Driver for Windows.

The Ricoh Production Print Solutions AFP Printer Driver for Windows is available on the Ricoh's website at:

Notes:
o The Ricoh Production Print Solutions AFP Printer Driver for Windows does not include the cwbaffax.zip file, and does not support using the AFP printer driver with Facsimile Support/400 (FAX/400) and Enhanced Services.
o The IBM i Access for Windows version of the AFP printer driver includes a cwbaffax.zip file which adds support for using the AFP printer driver with Facsimile Support/400 (FAX/400) and Enhanced Services.
o The IBM i Access for Windows version of the AFP printer driver does not install on PCs running Microsoft Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 because this version of the driver is not digitally signed. If the AFP printer driver is needed on a Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 PC, then the Ricoh Production Print Solutions AFP Printer Driver for Windows should be installed instead.
o To use the AFP printer driver with Facsimile Support/400 (FAX/400) and Enhanced Services on a Windows 8.1 PC, you must first install the Ricoh Production Print Solutions AFP Printer Driver for Windows, and then manually download and install the cwbaffax.zip file from the following FTP site:

ftp://public.dhe.ibm.com/as400/products/clientaccess/win32/afpprinter/amd64/ver030102/

For step-by-step instructions, please refer to the following document:

N1020429: Installing the Ricoh AFP Printer Driver on a Windows 8.1 PC for use with FAX/400

Note that the cwbaffax.zip file can be used with 32-bit or 64-bit versions of Windows running on either AMD and Intel Xeon processors.

NOTE:  The IBM i Global Support Center does not support the installation of the AFP print drivers on Windows platforms.  If assistance is required for the installation, refer to Windows HELP for instructions, or contact Microsoft.  Information provided below is in regard to the cwbafp.inf file during installation.

Installing the AFP Driver for the First Time
**If needed, refer to Windows HELP for installation instructions of a print driver
During the installation, when prompted for a driver:
Select Have Disk and browse/choose the installation directory, default C:\AFP Driver
Select the cwbafp.inf file and click OK
Select the driver that you want to use
If uncertain, the recommendation is to select Generic Infoprint 300 dpi AFP because it is compatible with the widest range of  printers.
Complete the installation

Upgrading an Existing AFP Driver
**Refer to Windows HELP for upgrade instructions of a print driver, if needed.
If applicable, under the Advanced tab for the print driver, click on New Driver.
When prompted for a driver, select Have Disk, and browse/choose the installation directory, default C:\AFP Driver
Select the cwbafp.inf file and click OK
Select the driver that you are updating, or its equivalent
For example, if currently using a driver called IBM AFP 300, choose the driver Generic Infoprint 300dpi AFP, and then accept all of the
defaults. You will see the new files being copied.
After installation, view the properties of the driver to ensure the upgrade was successful

If the AFP Driver Did Not Upgrade Properly
If the AFP Driver did not upgrade properly or regresses to the previous version after rebooting, completely remove and re-install the AFP driver.  Refer to Windows HELP for instructions on completely removing a print driver.  Contact Microsoft if needed.
