Application of this PTF may disable or render ineffective programs that
use system memory addresses not generated by the IBM translator,
including programs that circumvent control technology designed to limit
interactive capacity to purchased levels.  This PTF may be a prerequisite
for future PTFs.  By applying this PTF you authorize and agree to the
foregoing.

This PTF is subject to the terms of the license agreement which
accompanied, or was contained in, the Program for which you are obtaining

form and/or may be viewed using the Work with Software Agreements (WRKSFWAGR)
CL command.

APAR Error Description / Circumvention

-------------------------------------------------
After IPLed, the PING command will not resolve the name. PING
with host name fails with TCP3202. If changing the text of
CFGTCP 10, ping will resolve the host name. Host name registered
in lowercase can not be resolved. Uppercase letters resolve
names correctly. However if they IPLed, this issue will occur
again.

CORRECTION FOR APAR 'SE68511' :
-------------------------------
Changed CL commands CHGTCPHTE(Change TCP/IP Host Table Entry)
and ADDTCPHTE (Add TCP/IP Host Table Entry) to save uppercase
characters in host table if user inputs lowercase characters.

CIRCUMVENTION FOR APAR 'SE68511' :
----------------------------------
None.

Activation Instructions

None.

Special Instructions

After the PTF is applied, it requires a re-login to enable the fix in
the new session.

********************************************************************
THE FOLLOWING ARE SUPERSEDED SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS. IF THE SUPERSEDED
PTF HAS ALREADY BEEN APPLIED AND ITS SPECIAL INSTRUCTION FOLLOWED,
IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO FOLLOW THAT SPECIAL INSTRUCTION AGAIN.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUPERSEDED PTF SI64641 :
=================================================

If the issue has not been experienced, nothing needs to be done.
If the issue has been experienced and the current behavior needs to be
changed, the optional QIBM_TCP_UPDATE_OLD_HOST_TABLE_FILE environment
variable can be added to update /QIBM/USERDATA/OS400/TCPIP/QTOCHOSTS
but not QUSRSYS/QATOCHOST as follows:
ADDENVVAR ENVVAR(QIBM_TCP_UPDATE_OLD_HOST_TABLE_FILE) VALUE('*NO')
LEVEL(*SYS)

To activate or deactivate the changes with the
QIBM_TCP_UPDATE_OLD_HOST_TABLE_FILE environment variable, either:
a) New sessions must be started
b) Existing sessions must Signoff and signon.
c) Any existing jobs that modifying the HOSTS table must be restarted.

Follow these steps to re-sync data to QUSRSYS/QATOCHOST:
a. RMVENVVAR ENVVAR(QIBM_TCP_UPDATE_OLD_HOST_TABLE_FILE) LEVEL(*SYS)
b. CLRPFM FILE(QUSRSYS/QATOCHOST)
c. Add, change or delete host table entries (after deactivating the
change). Then all data will be re-sync to QUSRSYS/QATOCHOST.

Warning: Any applications that reference the QUSRSYS/QATOCHOST file
directly may not behave properly after this option has been enabled.

Default Instructions

THIS PTF CAN BE APPLIED IMMEDIATE OR DELAYED.
