APAR Error Description / Circumvention

-----------------------------------------------
When the collector job QYPSPFRCOL ends, users calling the
QPMLPFRD API can no longer retrieve data. However, the QPMACLCT
and QPMASERV jobs usually still stay active and users of the
QPMLPFRD API retrieve message MSGCPF0A43 (Data not available).

CORRECTION FOR APAR SE61649 :
-----------------------------
When the QPMACLCT job detects that the QYPSPFRCOL job has ended,
it too will cleanup and shutdown, signaling to the QPMASERV job
that it is ending abnormally.

Users using the QPMLPFRD API to gather data will need to check
for the following messages:
CPF0A42 (Collector ended abnormally)
CPF0A44 (Collection not active for user)
If either message is received, then re-issue the QPMWKCOL
request to start the collector again.

CIRCUMVENTION FOR APAR SE61649 :
--------------------------------
None.

DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEM FIXED FOR APAR SE62164 :
-----------------------------------------------
The Change Date/Time value of a Collection Services management
collection object (*MGTCOL) is not updated after the object is
created. This can cause issues with incremental saves that rely
on this date.

CORRECTION FOR APAR SE62164 :
-----------------------------
The Change Date/Time value of a Collection Services management
collection object (*MGTCOL) will now be updated when the object
is done being used for data collection. The Change Date/Time
will be set when Collection Services is ended or cycled.

CIRCUMVENTION FOR APAR SE62164 :
--------------------------------
None.

Activation Instructions

None.

QPMLPFRD must be ended and then restarted for the change to take
effect.

1. End any applications using the performance collector APIs QPMWKCOL
and QPMLPFRD.
Note: Make sure that jobs QPMACLCT and QPMASERV are no longer
running.

2. End Collection Services by entering the following on the command
line:
ENDPFRCOL FRCCOLEND(*YES)

3. Restart Collection Services by entering the following on the
command line:

THE FOLLOWING ARE SUPERSEDED SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS. IF THE SUPERSEDED
PTF HAS ALREADY BEEN APPLIED AND ITS SPECIAL INSTRUCTION FOLLOWED,
IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO FOLLOW THAT SPECIAL INSTRUCTION AGAIN.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUPERSEDED PTF SI56214 :
=================================================

After applying or removing this PTF the Collection Services collector
job (QYPSPFRCOL) must be ended and restarted for the change to take
effect.

1. To end Collection Services enter the following on the command
line:
ENDPFRCOL FRCCOLEND(*YES)

2. To start Collection Services enter the following on the command
line:
STRPFRCOL

Before restarting Collection Services, you should consider other
functions that may be using data provided by Collection Services. Such
functions may be impacted when Collection Services is ended. Error
messages may be produced and the affected functions may need to be
restarted.

Examples of functions that are dependent on Collection Services include
Management Central monitors and applications that use the performance
collector APIs QPMWKCOL and QPMLPFRD. If applications are using the
performance collector APIs, you will find server jobs QPMASERV and
QPMACLCT active on your system.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUPERSEDED PTF SI39923 :
=================================================

If the QPMACLCT job was active when this PTF was applied that job must
be ended and restarted for this fix to take effect. The QPMACLCT job
can be ended via the ENDJOB command with OPTION(*IMMED).  This action
may cause a failure in the client application which depends on the
QPMACLCT server. Restarting the client function will cause the QPMACLCT
job to be restarted.

Default Instructions

THIS PTF CAN BE APPLIED IMMEDIATE OR DELAYED.
