APAR Error Description / Circumvention
-----------------------------------------------
If a permanent error occurs on a write operation to a
DEVTYPE(*AFPDS) printer file, for example CPF5186 "Record format
&6 not found for file...", a temporary space does not get
deleted when the file is closed. If the printer file has
CVTLINDTA(*YES), the same problem can cause a thread to not be
ended.
CORRECTION FOR APAR SE58841 :
-----------------------------
When an exception is signalled by QWPPERRS, QSPCLOSE loses
addressability in the Open Data Path (ODP) to the program that
is supposed to destroy the temporary spaces. This will now be
handled by QWPPERRS.
CIRCUMVENTION FOR APAR SE58841 :
--------------------------------
None.
DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEM FIXED FOR APAR SE58762 :
-----------------------------------------------
An RPG program uses a printer file to create PDF documents using
the WSCST(*PDF) and TOSTMF parameters. This was working until
the program went into production, now after a short while it
fails with a CPF4182 exception.
CORRECTION FOR APAR SE58762 :
-----------------------------
There was a error in the operating system print code that
deletes the empty PDF output if there were no writes to the
printer file. (File open/close with no reads or writes is common
in RPG programming). The PDFs were unlinked but never closed.
Eventually the job would hit the limit of 200 open file handles
from these deleted-but-unclosed stream files.
CIRCUMVENTION FOR APAR SE58762 :
--------------------------------
None.
DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEM FIXED FOR APAR SE57694 :
-----------------------------------------------
The data larger than about 300000 bytes are failing to convert
by PRTAFPDTA.
Smaller files are converting just fine.
CORRECTION FOR APAR SE57694 :
-----------------------------
QWPMODCA keeps track of the longest record length to be used by
the QUSRSPLA API and SNDNETSPLF as it writes the print data to a
spooled file.
This application generates AFPDS commands with the maximum
length of 32767, plus one for the X/5A control at the beginning.
One of the two spots in QWPMODCA that can update the record
length was not properly handling the 32768 total length (it
should report a record length of 32767)
CIRCUMVENTION FOR APAR SE57694 :
--------------------------------
None.
DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEM FIXED FOR APAR SE58176 :
-----------------------------------------------
The customer has a spooled file that uses the COLOR DDS keyword.
If they try to use Infoprint Server to convert that spooled file
to PDF and have the PDF paper size drawer 1 (PDFPPRDWR1) and PDF
paper size drawer 2 (PDFPPRDWR2) parameters set to *A4 then it
the WTR job fails with MSGMCH1210 and MSGCPF9999, but if they
have the PDFPPRDWR1 and PDRPPRDWR2 parameters est to *A3 then
the PDF file is created successfully.
CORRECTION FOR APAR SE58176 :
-----------------------------
When used with any other color model except "color name", the
DDS COLOR keyword generates a Set Extended Text Color command in
the spooled file. This command is significantly longer than
most text commands. This command is getting split across a
record boundary with most of the command residing in the first
record and only 3 bytes spilling over to the next record. When
the spooled file is printed on an IPDS printer, or converted to
PDF using InfoPrint Server, this split command is not detected
by QWPREQIO (because of the unusual length of the command) and
QWPREQIO loses its place in the data, causing a counter to
underflow. If the data were a little different, this error
could result in MSGMCH0601 instead of MCH1210.
CIRCUMVENTION FOR APAR SE58176 :
