Upgrade ZVM640, Subset 2001RSU:


This subset contains service recommendation information for z/VM
VERSION 6, RELEASE 4 MODIFICATION 0 specific to the installation of
the RSU tape.  Service recommendations for all product components
listed in this subset.  Be sure to refer to the RSU subset that
matches the service level of the RSU tape that is to be installed.
PTF service listed in this subset should be applied after the RSU
tape has been loaded.

After the date that this subset is no longer supported, it is
recommended that the latest RSU and corresponding subset be used
when applying new levels of service.

If you are a SoftwareXcel customer and choose not to use the
latest RSU, you can search on HIPER and the applicable component
identifiers (ie COMPONENT ID and RELEASE) to determine the
recommended service that should be ordered.

 2. 20/11/24 If you make use of RACF on  your system, please refer
             to the special instructions found in the RACFVM640
             upgrade, subset 1901RSU for actions necessary to
             update the RACF template.  This template update is
             REQUIRED by service delivered on the RSU. If you have
             previously processed the RACF template update, further
             action is not necessary.

 1. 20/11/24 If you have the CP component installed in shared file, and
             you do not have VMSES service VM66020/UM35117 applied to
             your system, PUT2PROD fails for the DDR MODULE and/or the
             SALIPL MODULE on you z/VM 6.4.0 system. In this case, you
             will need to manually copy the DDR and SALIPL MODULES
             from the MAINT640 490 disk to the MAINT640 CF2 disk after
             you run SERVICE and before you run PUT2PROD. If CP is
             installed on minidisks, or if you have UM35117 previously
             applied on your system, you will not see this problem.
