Comments

• This APAR provides guest support for the guarded-storage
  facility that was introduced with the IBM z14 (D/T3906).
  This facility is designed to improve the performance of
  garbage-collection processing by various languages, in
  particular Java.
  
  The guarded-storage facility is a hardware feature aimed at
  reducing pause times in systems with automated memory
  management, for example a Java virtual machine's garbage
  collector.  Pause times are phases during which application
  execution is suspended so as to avoid potential data
  integrity issues, and can have an impact on an application's
  response time and service level agreement requirements.
