Error description

  • Assertion errors may occur while unpacking a QDIO input buffer
when a packet is either malformed or invalid. Repeated
assertion errors may result in a program interrupt.

The error log would contain a QDIO transmission error:

        DTCQDI001I QDIO device DEV@1100 device number 1100:
        DTCQDI012E encountered a transmission error

                     index 00

Followed by TCPIP assertion errors that could look similar to
    this:

When a packet is either malformed or invalid, assertion errors
may occur while unpacking the QDIO Input buffer.

Problem conclusion

  • When improper or invalid packets are received, the QDIO unpack
routine in FPQDIO is incorrectly handling them. This results
in one or more assertion errors.
FPQDIO has been updated to correctly handle improper and invalid
    packets.
