Error description
Using install_ihs -group changes these to be group writable: /<IHS_Runtime>/version.signature /<IHS_Runtime>/logs /<IHS_Runtime>/bin/apachectl But during post install processing, other files (such as files in bin) can be added/changed. So install_ihs -group should change this too.
Local fix
Change permission bits on the config directory to 770
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: Users of IBM HTTP Server on z/OS * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Permission errors when using a * * restricted user to run IHS. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** If restricted user WWWSERV starts IHS, but another user (USER1) is the one that ran install_ihs to create an instance in the filesystem, errors may be reported at IHs startup even if the -group option was supplied to install_ihs.
Problem conclusion
install_ihs was updated to change permissions on additional directories when -group is specified. The argument to -group must be a group shared by the user that starts IHS and the user that created the webserver instance with "bin/install_ihs" This fix is targeted for 9.0.5.1 and 8.5.5.16.
