Error description

  • When using clustered AIX with the disk ping driver on the
    repository disk, there can be a flood of errors in the error
    report if all access to the repository disk is lost.  This
    flood of errors can cause other more important error logs
    to be lost, and can cause excessive CPU use for error log
    analysis.

Problem summary

Problem conclusion

  • Modified the disk ping driver to throttle the I/O rate after
    it detects several errors in a row.
