IV69521: NMENTDD: NETSTAT/ENTSTAT "TIMEOUT ERRORS" CAN BE COUNTED TWICE APPLIES TO AIX 7100-03
A fix is available
Closed as program error.
The netstat/entstat "Timeout Errors" field for devices using the nmentdd network device driver can be greater than the actual number of errors due to a single error being counted twice in some conditions. Some network devices using this device driver are: 4-Port Gigabit Ethernet PCI-Express Adapter (e4143a16e4143009) 2-Port Gigabit Ethernet PCI-Express Adapter (e4143a16e4140909) 2-Port Integrated Gigabit Ethernet PCI-Express Adapter (e4143a161410ed03) 2-Port Gigabit Ethernet PCI-Express Combo Adapter (e4143a161410a003)
The netstat/entstat "Timeout Errors" field for FC8291 can be greater than the actual number of errors due to a single error being counted twice in some conditions.
Code changed so that the tx_timeout counter gets incremented only once per actual timeout.
