Error description

  • The customer set TZ=JST-9, and then putenv("TZ="), and
found tzset(), mktime() and localtime() returned value
based on JST-9.

Local fix

  • 



Problem summary


    

  • tzset fails to set the timezone correctly if tzset is called
with TZ unset then set to a timezone and then unset.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • Appropriate code changes so that call to unset will give UTC.
