Error description

  • During an unmount, the CIFS driver may enter
    an infinite loop.  The smbiod kernel process
    associated with the share mount will consume
    100% CPU.

Local fix

Problem summary

  • During an unmount, the CIFS driver may enter
    an infinite loop.  The smbiod kernel process

Problem conclusion

  • Check for unrecoverable loop conditions & break out.
