Problem conclusion

  • To solve the problem, new code and functions were implemented.
The recovery needs to be enable by chainging the
new attributes added in this defect.
These functions check the severity of assymetric messages
(which are syslog messages) and check if the severity
of the message is 0. If this is the case,
it also will check that the user enable the new recovery
    attribue (using chdev).
If this condition is enable, the device driver will either,
just reset the card, or it will force an embedded system
dump which will trigger also a reset of the card.
    To enable the new recovery:
    for reset only:
    > chdev -l ib0 -a slog_sev0_reset=yes
for reset and embedded system dump:
    > chdev -l ib0 -a slog_sev0_reset=dump
    to diable it:
    > chdev -l ib0 -a slog_sev0_reset=no

Other attributes were added to choose
how many errors have to happen in a period of time
to stop trying to recover the card.
    Attributes for this purpose:
    slog_sev0_limit number of errors per
    slog_sev0_time minutes to declare the
    card as dead.

    Default values can be used.
