APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When a cluster disk is added
(e.g., as a repository or a cluster disk using
    chcluster -d +)
if it was previously registered with storage framework,
then the (old) uuid from the previous registration
is used, instead of a possibly new uuid if the physical
    disk had changed.

Local fix

  • N/A

Problem summary

  • CAA cluster won't start due to mismatching/missing UUIDs of
3rd party repository and/or cluster disks.

Problem conclusion

  • If a 3rd party disk is already registered with storage
framework, unregister it first and re-register, in case the
    underlying physical disk has changed.
