Error description

  • The kernel trace hook 0x3B9 which is used to format trace
events from the Fibre Channel device driver does not
    format
the data correctly. It attempts to use the generic 0xDD1
    trace hook.

Local fix

  • In /etc/trcfmt locate the hook 0x3B9. It will appear as
    follows:

    3B9 1.0 "FCDD" \
        $DD1

    Replace it with the following:

    3B9 1.0 "FCDD" \
            $HDU, \
            0xc3 { "command_out: ap: " $D3 " ctl_elem: " $D1
    " iocb: " $D2 " ring: " $D4 }, \
            0xc4 { "command_in: ap: " $D3 " ctl_elem: " $D1
    " iocb: " $D2 " ring: " $D4 }, \
            0x15 { "entry_intr: ap: " $D1 }, \
            0x16 { "exit_intr: ap: " $D2 " har: " $D1 }, \
            0xbf { "entry_offl: ap: " $D1 " poll_state: "
    $D2 " io_rate_ctr: " $D3 }, \
            0xc0 { "entry_poll_tmr: ap: " $D1 " poll_state:
    " $D2 " io_rate_ctr: " $D3 }, \
            0xc1 { "poll_mode_on: ap: " $D1 " poll_state:
    " $D2 " io_rate_ctr: " $D3 }, \
            0xc2 { "poll_mode_off: ap: " $D1 " poll_state:
    " $D2 " io_rate_ctr: " $D3 }, \
            \*    { "Unknown sub-opcode. Verify." }

    Here is a sample output:

    3B9 wait 0 131077 2.224288
           FCDD entry_intr: ap: F1000A0150610000
    3B9 wait 0 131077 2.224418
           FCDD command_in: ap: F1000A0150610000 ctl_elem:

    3B9 wait 0 131077 2.224424
           FCDD exit_intr: ap: F1000A0150610000 har: 0080
