Error description

  • After upgrading to AIX 6.1 TL8 SP2 in a HA node
    # exportfs -a -f exports
    hangs
    
    Problem happens _only_ when stable storage is somehow
    bad. If it cannot be queried/accessed then the exportfs
    command could lead to a deadlock.
    

Local fix

    storage
    issues to avoid the deadlock.
