APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • lspv -P is taking a very long time to run. Instead of
    just
reading from one disk per VG, it reads from every disk.

Local fix

Problem summary

  • lspv -P may take longer than necessary due to repeated querying
of LVM metadata for the same VG.

Problem conclusion

  • Read all LVM metadata the first time we get mirror pool info
for a disk, and cache any mirror pool info we get for other
disks in the same VG, to re-use later and reduce the number
of times we read our metadata from the disks during lspv -P
