APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • CAA commands like lscluster, mkcluster, chcluster,
rmcluster, clcmd will fail due to a memory segmentation
fault and dump a core if the XPG_UNIX98 environment
    variable is set ON.

    For example:
    # export XPG_UNIX98=ON
    # lscluster
    Segmentation fault(coredump)
    # echo $?
    139

Local fix

  • There is a work-around to the problem by unsetting
    the XPG_UNIX98 variable if applicable.

    # unset XPG_UNIX98
    # lscluster

Problem summary

  • core dumps for various CAA commands

Problem conclusion

  • Modified call to vsnprintf() to follow Unix 98 standard.
