APAR status

Error description

  • After logging MSNENT_MPIFW_ERR, many MSNENT_LINK_DOWNs
    get logged, and the network eventually stops responding.
    The adapter is connected to a non-DCBX capable switch.
    

Local fix

  • Block LLDB packets at the switch, or replace the switch
    with a DCBX capable one.
    

Problem summary

  • Network down along with MSNENT_MPIFW_ERR error in errpt when
    FCoE adapter is connected to non-DCBX switch.
    

Problem conclusion

  • Driver is fixed to handle command queue with duplicate
    DCBX commands.
