Error description

  • on AIX 71 When shell time command used in parentheses, it
    could print negative values.
    for example
    
    (time echo "vmstat" | kdb) >/dev/null
        real    0m0.86s
        user    0m0.-1s    << Here]]
        sys     0m0.-1s    << Here]]
    

Local fix

  • Don't use parentheses or use /user/bin/time or use ksh
    instead of ksh93
