Error description

  • Memory leak in crypt() casues the process to run out of
    memory. After which the call to getpwnam_r starts
    failling
    and crypt starts giving incorrect output.
    

Local fix

Problem summary

  • memory leak in crypt function causes to return random values
    when the process runs out of memory.
    

Problem conclusion

  • memory leak has been fixed.
