IV52982: SUPPRESS UNNECESSARY DAT_ACCEPT_COMPLETION_ERROR APPLIES TO AIX 6100-09

A fix is available

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • In some instances a DAT_ACCEPT_COMPLETION_ERROR may be
delivered if the dat_cr_accept call is not finished completely
by the time the response (say a disconnect or unreachable or
something that will cause the connect request to be marked for
deestruction) is received. This could lead to a case for
example where both a DAT_ACCEPT_COMPLETION_ERROR and
DAT_CONNECTION_EVENT_ESTABLISHED is delivered followed by a
    DISCONNECT event.

Problem summary

  • In some instances a DAT_ACCEPT_COMPLETION_ERROR may be

by the time the response (say a disconnect or unreachable or
something that will cause the connect request to be marked for

example where both a DAT_ACCEPT_COMPLETION_ERROR and

    DISCONNECT event.

Problem conclusion

  • Generate a notification for the user if the connection
requested is destroyed (in the accept processing path) only in
the case where the EP hasn't already been disconnected. Else
just go ahead and free the CR (connection request) without any
    notification.
