Error description

  • Using wild card and key substitution in an indirect
    automount map can cause system crash with NFSv4 mounts
    if the key passed to the mount command has
    invalid characters.
    

Local fix

  • do not use wild card plus key substitutions in an
    indirect
    automount mapping id there is garbage characters in
    remote
    pathnames.
    

Problem summary

  • AIX NFSv4 Client may crash with autofs and wildcard expansion
    in map , and remote path name has a nonprintable characters.
    

Problem conclusion

  • Bypass RAS string check
