APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Unmounting a NFS3 file system may report an warning:
Warning: umount:: RPC: 1832-019 Program not registered

Using rpcinfo command shows that the UDP Version 1
rpc.mountd daemon is not registered on the NFS server.

Local fix

  • Register the UDP Version 1 of rpc.mountd daemon on the
NFSv3 server.

Problem summary

  • NFS3 unmount may print unwanted warning message.

Problem conclusion

  • This warning message is only advisory it does not have any side
effect,hence instead of taking any overhead of TCP connection
we will remove the unwanted warning message.
