APAR status

Error description

  • A file that is open in Truncate mode, and a write
    generated on it is later getting a Read on it to
    cache the file from home in AFM IW mode.
    This causes Read to see Write as dependent
    and ends up deadlocking.

Problem conclusion

  • This problem is fixed in 5.1.2.10

    Benefits of the solution:
    Such deadlock situations where Read is generated
    on a file for which Write is already there cannot
    happen.

    None
