APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Triggering a ChangeSecondary for a DR Primary mode fileset
    to the same target inband or triggering a Resync on a
    SW fileset which is in unmounted state, with resyncV2
    feature enabled can cause the resync/changeSecondary
    to fail and not proceed.
    

Local fix

  • Disable ResyncV2 and run ResyncV1
    to get changeSecondary
    or Resync commands to work on the DR/SW filesets.
    

Problem summary

  • Triggering a ChangeSecondary for a DR Primary mode fileset
    to the same target inband or triggering a Resync on a
    SW fileset which is in unmounted state, with resyncV2
    feature enabled can cause the resync/changeSecondary
    to fail and not proceed.

  • Problem is fixed in 5.1.2  PTF 1

    Benefits of the solution:
    ResyncV2 can be run on DR Filesets
    on which changeSecondary
    are run and Resync can be run on SW fileset which is in
    unmounted state.
    
    Work around:
    Disable ResyncV2 and run ResyncV1
    to get changeSecondary
    or Resync commands to work on the DR/SW filesets.
