APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When a single node is unavailable during
    'mmauth genkey new' this results in
    GPFS (mmfsd) not starting on this node.
    

Local fix

  • To update the node which was unavailable
    during 'mmauth genkey new' with the
    latest key files the following command must
    be attempted on a node which was
    available during 'mmauth genkey new':
    mmauth genkey propagate -N
    <NODE_UNAVAILABLE_DURING_MMAUTH_GENKEY_NEW>
    

Problem summary

  • When a single node is unavailable during
    'mmauth genkey new' this results in
    GPFS (mmfsd) not starting on this node.
    

Problem conclusion

  • This problem is fixed in 5.1.2  PTF 1

    Benefits of the solution:
    GPFS starts sucessfully even if a single node
    was unavailable during 'mmauth genkey new'.
    
    Work around:
    To update the node which was unavailable
    during 'mmauth genkey new' with the
    latest key files the following command must
    be attempted on a node which was
    available during 'mmauth genkey new':
    mmauth genkey propagate -N
    <NODE_UNAVAILABLE_DURING_MMAUTH_GENKEY_NEW>
