IJ17904: ORACLE RG IS GOING TO TEMPORARY ERROR STATE AND CLUSTER IS GOING TO ST_RP_FAILED STATE WHEN 127 LISTENERS ARE CONFIGURED.

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • STEPS to Reproduce:
================
1)Install latest PowerHA
2)Configure 127 listeners in listener.ora
3)Add DB Instance to cluster using oracle SA
4)Start the cluster services

Cluster is going to ST_RP_FAILED state when oracle DB instance
is added with 127 Listeners.
and Oracle RG is going to "TEMPORARY ERROR" state.

Local fix

  • Increase the stabilization interval for Oracle listener monitor
as below using clmgr command, Stabilization interval = 180+(30*
monitors in Oracle RG)

Problem summary

  • Oracle RG is going to Temporary ERROR state and Cluster is going
 to ST_RP_FAILED state when 127 listeners are configured for a
DB

Problem conclusion

  • Made changes to configure stabilization interval of Oracle
listener monitor based on number of listeners.

Temporary fix

  • Increase the stabilization interval for Oracle listener monitor
as below using clmgr command, Stabilization interval = 180+(30*
monitors in Oracle RG)
