IJ17505: IJ17505 - LIVE UPDATE FAILS WHEN APPLYING 7200-03-03 / IJ09625 APPLIES TO AIX 7200-03 20/02/14 PTF PECHANGE

Error description

  * USERS AFFECTED:
  * Systems applying the AIX 7200-03 Technology Level
  * with bos.net.tcp.client_core at the 7.2.3.16 or 7.2.3.17
  * level.
    **************************************************************
  * ERROR DESCRIPTION:
  * This issue only applies when using Live Update.
  * Live Update will fail if you are installing 7200-03-03 or
  * IJ09625.
  *
  * The problem can be avoided by applying an ifix for IJ17505
  * along with the 7200-03-03 update, in the same Live Update
  * operation.

  * RECOMMENDATION:
  * Install APAR IJ17505.
  * Prior to fix availability, an interim fix is available from
  * either
  * ftp://aix.software.ibm.com/aix/ifixes/ij17505/
  * https://aix.software.ibm.com/aix/ifixes/ij17505/
  * The ifix can be installed using Live Update (LU).
  * If LU is not used, installation of the ifix requires a
  * reboot.

• Live Update may fail with messages like these on the console:
  
  1020-026 Can't send message (32).   03.155.0041
  1020-026 Can't send message (32).   03.156.0132
  
  In /var/adm/ras/liveupdate/logs/lvupdlog, you may see errors
  like these:
  
  mcr_fd_prm - 1020-007 System call fdinfo error (22).
  
  If you attempted to update to one of the Service Pack (SP)
  Updates below using the AIX Live Update feature, it may be this
  problem:
  
  7200-03-03-1913
  7200-03-03-1914
  

Problem conclusion

• Update netinet driver to allow successful communication between
  the surrogate and original LPARs.
