Abstract
In IBM Rational Quality Manager (RQM) 6.0.6.1, the newly added CleanupUnreferencedCollectionRecordsAsyncTask can cause unintended deletion of rows from certain internal database tables resulting in the data not being visible in some artifact section views.
This task is designed to remove rows that are no longer referenced from certain internal database tables.
However, it can incorrectly remove some rows that are still referenced.
Note: The data is still in the database and IBM is working on a tool to restore it.
Content
Referenced test artifacts may be empty in the RQM web UI when performing query operations (for example, sorting or filtering in certain section views, such as Test Cases/Test Suites sections of the Test Plan editor).
Solution:
Apply the latest 6.0.6.1 iFix to the 6.0.6.1 environment immediately as the “CleanupUnreferencedCollectionRecordsAsyncTask” is disabled and removed as of 6.0.6.1 iFix003.
If applying the latest 6.0.6.1 iFix is not possible, disable the “CleanupUnreferencedCollectionRecordsAsyncTask” immediately.
1. Navigate to the RQM Administration page https://<server>:<port>/<QM context root>/admin.
2. Click the “Advanced Properties” link under “Configuration”.
3. Search for “CleanupUnreferencedCollectionRecordsAsyncTask”, and change the value for "The time interval in seconds between the execution of this task" under that entry to “-1”.
4. Restart the server.
As stated above, a repair utility to fix the data removal is currently being worked on.
