Abstract

IBM RPA v19 implements a Single Stream Continuous Delivery (SSCD) and reaches end of support in September 2025, while v11 reached complete end of eligibility for support in March of 2023 (www.ibm.com/support/pages/node/1207954).

To stay current, avoid being impacted by known defects and security vulnerabilities, and take advantage of the latest product features, always upgrade to the latest available fix level.
IBM RPA with Automation Anywhere rarely ships code fixes on older code levels or backport fixes from the latest fix level on a release. It is important to apply and run the latest available product version so you maintain a stable environment. Except for extreme security vulnerabilities, fixes for defects are generally released on the following scheduled release level.

(1) IBM support is provided for any RPA 19.x update level that is not more than two years old. You must move to a more currently supported fix level to request IBM Support to investigate a problem that you report.


Lifecycle Planning

IBM RPA releases regular update packages called SSCD updates to deliver new product features as well as most defect fixes (APARs). These updates are delivered as single packages usually released on a quarterly basis.

An SSCD update is installed as one installable package. For more information about applying these packages, see the announcement that accompanies each release (linked to in the previous table). 

Important support recommendations and policies

IBM Support is provided for IBM RPA release levels that are not more than two years old or end of service (EOS) is explicitly announced, whichever occurs first. Extended support is not available for IBM RPA product. You must instead move to a more current update to request IBM Support to investigate a problem that you report.
